Subban, Nurse up for Clancy
Edmonton’s Darnell Nurse, Anaheim’s Ryan Getzlaf and New Jersey’s P.K. Subban are the finalists for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, given to the NHL player who “best exemplifies leadership qualities” and has made a humanitarian contribution in his community. Nurse has created a scholarship program with Hamilton’s St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School, his alma mater; Getzlaf helped create the Ducks’ Learn to Play program; and Subban gave $1 million in March to Le SPOT, the new mental health clinic at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
